SFU Canadian Cancer Society Presents: Virtual Bob Ross Paint Along Night

SFU Canadian Cancer Society is collaborating with SFU Pursuit of Happiness to host an online art social to fundraise for cancer research! We welcome you to join us on Zoom for a virtual paint night. Participate in fun contests to win Amazon gift cards, Starbucks gift cards, and other prizes.
You will able to join at either our 6 PM or 7 PM session that last for an hour each! The tickets for our Virtual Bob-Ross-Paint-Along Night are $5 per person, but you also have the option to donate more if you wish as all contributions from our event will be donated to our Relay for Life Fundraiser. This virtual event is also a great opportunity to learn more about SFU Canadian Cancer Society’s Annual Relay for Life Fundraiser as you paint along to Bob Ross at the comfort of your room. We will email you your Zoom link for either of the session you choose to attend within 24 hours, once you transfer your $5 donation to our account (more details on payment will be listed when you register and get a ticket).

BPK Careers Night!

We are very EXCITED to announce that we will be hosting our annual Discover BPK Careers Night on Thursday February 3rd from 5:30 – 7:30 pm! 😁 Hear about all the possible career paths available to your post graduation.
 
We encourage everyone to attend and welcome BPK Alumni who are working in a variety of fields including; 👩‍⚕️ medicine, physical therapy, occupational therapy, orthotics and much much more!
 
The event will be hosted via Zoom in the form of a panel discussion with an opportunity for participants to ask any questions they have for the speakers.

Hey Everyone, just wanted to let you all know, The BPKSA is very EXCITED to announce that KIN WEEK is back November 22nd – 26th!!

Get to know more about Kinesiology, Studying Overseas , How to get involved in Research in BPK , and much much more!!!

There will be daily presentations from our partners; The Canadian Kinesiologist Alliance to teach you more about the importance of Kinesiology, The BC Association of Kinesiologists on how to become a member and start practicing as a Kinesiologist, Oztrekk will guide you through the process of applying and studying abroad. Thursday is Navigating Research Day, get to know your BPK Professors who run labs and learn more about the research opportunities available to you. The Oztrekk and Research Event will be most useful to all students in science not just BPK as you can hear from profs and students volunteering in labs and studying abroad for grad school.

Convergence Committee Opportunity

Convergence is a nonprofit that aims to help high school students discover their passion by connecting them with community members.

They are organizing a new community event, the University Experience Panel, aimed at simplifying post-secondary programs for students in Grades 11 and 12. They are currently looking to recruit post-secondary students in the Faculty of Science. Panel members who are selected will participate in a virtual event in late January or February 2022 during after-school hours (after 3 PM). Panellists will be asked to share aspects of their post-secondary program and engage in group discussions during this event.
