Tuesday January 26th, 2021
The meeting of the BPKSA was called to order at 3:30pm by Ben in the BPK Zoom Virtual Meeting Room. Minimum quorum of 4 executive members reached.

Open Issues:
1) Approval of Previous Minutes
– Jordan motioned to approve the meeting minutes of 2021-01-26. Rose seconded.

2) Discover BPK
- – Happening Thursday Feb 4th, starting at 5:30 pm
- – Zoom link scheduled to be sent out to attendees in automatic pre-event e-mails
- – Send speakers final info/Zoom backgrounds
- – Create schedule/”Run of show”
- – We still need to organize/make the instructions for how to set speaker backgrounds
- – Someone still needs to make display pages for bioso Rose will make it (a pdf or word doc, etc.)
- – We have some extra BPK shirtso We will offer 2 of these as extra door prizes for Discover BPK
- – There are currently a lot of people RSVPed to attend (~90 people)o Do we want to offer more door prizes because of this?
▪ Probably not, as less will attend than are RSVPed. Also we have added 2 extra shirts to win.
– Finalizing prizing
o We will have 2 shirts and 3 $15 Starbucks gift cards for attendees to win. All
speakers will get a $20 Starbucks gift card
o We will use $205 from core funds for these gift card prizes
- – We will conduct the prize draws @ the end of the event
- – Opening / Closing Remarkso Nicole &/or Anastasia
- – Nicole & Anastasia will also be chat moderatorso Will monitor the chats for questions to the speakers.

- – Slight wording changes regarding SFSS Council Representative position
- – Created new mailing lists (bpksa-maillist, bpksa-execs) to try and remove confusionabout how to get in touch with different groups
o Bpksa-maillist is essentially the replacement for the old ‘bpksa-execs list
o The new bpksa-execs list will include a list of current execs. We will add execs as
they are elected.
– Who needs to be updated about the changes?

4) Spring Events
– Games with Physics (on Discord) over Reading Break
o Escape room, Trivia
▪ Escape room groups would be small (~2-3 people) to facilitate better
involvement of all members
o Most prizes would be given out to participants with a random draw o Would BPKSA like to be part of this event?
- ▪ BPKSA would help with reimbursements (ie. food, gift cards)
- ▪ Would a BKPSA member be willing to help with this event?• Yes!
- ▪ There is some concern about turnout of the BPKSA if we do this event
- ▪ It is possible that a lot of BPK students aren’t familiar with / don’t usediscord
- ▪ Anastasia will help out with this event
– What other events/initiatives do we want to do for the rest of the spring? Any ideas? o E.g. Adaptations to Year-End Party? Event to replace Kin Cup?
o ‘Spatialchat’
▪ You move yourself around the room and as you get ‘closer’ to people, their mics get louder
- ▪ Would we still have faculty involvement? This is a big potential draw to year end party
- ▪ Reimburse food
- ▪ Tentatively scheduled for April o A fitness challenge▪ Are we able to donate to a cause when people tag us? Not sure if this is allowed
o Research day

- – The BPKS needs to make more documents to help with the transition / turnover of newexecs
o These would be an outline of what a given exec does in their role, and any usefulinfo
- – Notify people about Pass / Fail measure that has now passed6) Miscellaneous
- – Communications committee has started with their Insider BPK postso Please apply to be featured if you would like to!
- – Princeton Review: they are asking if we would like run a session with them (ie MCATprep / mock test, etc.)
o This would just be for BPKSA members it sounds like
