Tuesday January 26th, 2021

The meeting of the BPKSA was called to order at 3:30pm by Ben in the BPK Zoom Virtual Meeting Room. Minimum quorum of 4 executive members reached.

Open Issues:

1) Approval of Previous Minutes
– Nicole motioned to approve the meeting minutes of 2021-01-26. Rose seconded.

2) Clothing Sales –

3) Discover BPK
– Happening Thursday Feb 4th, starting at 5:30 pm now to account for speaker availability

(about 1.5-2 hrs in length)

A couple of people haven’t submitted their mailing address yet, sent a follow-up

message

If they do not respond, we will have to wait to ship their order at a later date.

The official pick-up date will be announced in the next week or two

• –  Happening Thursday Feb 4th, 5:30 pm – 7:15 pm
• –  Updates on panel compositiono First panel is BCIT
• –  In the next few days, confirmation emails will be sent out to speakers
• –  Pushing advertising/Eventbrite sign ups
• –  We are hoping to make a ‘brochure’ including speaker headshots and bios to include inour advertising / Eventbrite so that people get a better idea of what the event will

  include.

• –  The BPKSA has made a list of potential questions to ask speakers in case there is a lull inquestions from attendees
  o We will send speakers a list of the generic questions included in this list so that

  they have an opportunity to prepare to answer these questions.

• –  We also would like to have moderators from the BPKSA

o Anastasia and Nicole will be the moderators
o Ben will give a brief intro to the event. Ben will also try to do the tech side of the

event.

• –  honorariums for speakerso $20 Starbucks gift cards
• –  For attendees we will also have door prizeso Starbucks gift cards

  4) BPKSA Elections / Constitutional Changes

• –  Slight wording changes regarding SFSS Council Representative positiono Poll to make the described changes the BPKSA’s constitution
  ▪ Votes during today’s meeting were unanimously in favor of making the

  changes.

• –  Updates to Elections and Executive Term of Office
• –  Changes highlighted in the attached document5) Reading Week Event(s) with Science DSU’s

• –  Looking for assistance from BPKSA
• –  Physics is looking to put on some events during reading break (Virtual Escape Room,Trivia, Games Night)
• –  Wondering if we would be interested in collaborating with them6) SUS/DSU/SFSS Updates

  7) Miscellaneous

– BPKSA members: please promote Discover BPK!

Motions:

Nicole motioned to change the BPKSA constitution to make wording changes

regarding the SFSS Council Representative position, make updates to elections and update the

executive Term of Office. Jordan seconded it. Motion was passed unanimously.
