Meeting Minutes Thursday, July 8th, 2021
The meeting of the BPKSA was called to order at 6:30pm by Simran in a Zoom Virtual Meeting. Minimum quorum of 4 executive members reached.

Open Issues:
1) Approval of Previous Minutes
– Josh motioned to approve the meeting minutes of 2021-06-24. Kashish seconded.
Minutes approved unanimously.
2) SUS Student Union Building Space
- – Welcome SUS President, Shariq Ahsan
- – SUB building, SUS does not have a space in building because there is no room. Meetings
held in weird locations. People don’t know how to get in touch.
- – SUS wants a centralized space in SUB alongside SASS. Drafting a letter to send to the SFSS. Want the execs to sign their letter and support the SUS at the council meeting.
- – All execs present agree to support the SUS campaign. 3) Strava Fitness Challenge
– Event Promotion and Participation (Thank you Richelle)
4) BPKSA Check-In-Survey
- – Overall everyone seems okay, bi-weekly meetings seem to be working fine
o Need to allocate roles a little better but overall, everyone is okay with it
- – Comments regarding Strava Fitness Challenge (suggestions for improvement)

o Our funding was great, but we should have started promotion a little earlier
o Spread the word! We still have 1 and a half week

early, we can start posting on Facebook as well since a lot of students rely on
viewing BPKSA content from there.
o Our time frame for the event was great considering our meetings are bi-weekly.
– Excitement for Future BPKSA Events
o For future events, we want collaboration with other DSU’s and Peer mentors. We’ll reach out to people once they have settled in.
5) Behavioral Neuroscience Student Society – Welcome and Introductions
6) Accessibility for All Campaign:
– BPKSA involvement in the campaign
– Increase in Engagement!
o Engagement has increased by 92%. We are reaching 60% more people.
- – A lot of people have interacted with the Strava post.
- – Thanks to Richelle for all of the posts and everything!
- – Week 1 Winners
o Winners: Nathan and Judith
– Brainstorm how to approach Department
o Outside of circumstances brought on by the pandemic, many students have commitments that interfere with access to lectures and course materials
▪ Recordings would be very useful regardless of COVID (ie. In the circumstance of a family emergency)
o If anyone has more ideas on strategies to reach out to professors about this campaign, please contact Kashish with your suggestions!

- – We are still waiting for the response of other student unions.
7) SUS/DSU/SFSS Updates:
– SFSS welcome week planning in progress
o Does the BPKSA know which activity it will host for this even?
▪ BPK-themed scavenger hunt similar to the BPK year end party format

o Do we have a BPK google drive folder? It may be lost
