The meeting of the BPKSA was called to order at 6:30pm by Simran in a Zoom Virtual Meeting. Minimum quorum of 4 executive members reached.

1) Approval of Previous Minutes
– Sherilyn motioned to approve the meeting minutes of 2021-06-10. Richelle seconded.
Minutes approved unanimously.
2) Two Upcoming Science Initiativesx
– 2nd Annual Indigenous Science Speaker Series
o Webinar given by a PhD Alumnus Dr. Kyle Bobiwash on knowledge systems in ecology.

– Final Updated Version approved and uploaded
o If there are any more changes you notice you would like to add, bring it up! We can always add more further amendments at a later date
5) Strava Fitness Challenge
– Grant was approved!
6) SFSS Campaigns:
– Access for All Campaign
o Plantoencourageprofessorstoprovidelecturerecordingsnextsemester
▪ SFU may provide a guarantee that the professor’s work will not be used
without their permission.
o Sherilyn can contract the BPK Chair to reach out to professors about this topic. o The BPKSA will draft a statement on this issue to Professors in the department o The BPKSA will reach out to the center for accessible learning in order to
incentivize prof’s participation in this campaign. – BPK Department involvement
7) Summer Engagements / Collaborations:

- – Events/Games Nights with other DSU’so Potentially could hold an event like this nearing the end of summer semester.
