Meeting Minutes Tuesday March 30th, 2021
The meeting of the BPKSA was called to order at 3:30pm by Ben in Zoom Virtual Meeting. Minimum quorum of 4 executive members reached.

Open Issues:
1) Approval of Previous Minutes
– Richelle motioned to approve the meeting minutes of 2021-03-23. Galvin seconded.
Minutes approved unanimously.
2) March Madness:
– Reimbursement
o Total cost ~ $225 – motion to reimburse Ben
3) Princeton Review MMI session:
- – Thursday April 1st at 5:00 pm
- – Sign-up via Princeton Review4) Year End Party:
- – Slight faculty preference for April 29th (4 vs. 3 votes)o WewillmoveforwardwithplanningtheeventforApril29th
- – Platform to use for the evento Spatialchat
▪ Costs are in ‘person minutes. We need to make sure we do not click the link outside of the event. We may be able to do one test run to test out the platform.
– Grant submission
o We are looking at submitting a grant assuming ~50 people attend.
▪ We would like to have multiple prizes and cover peoples’ food costs • We’d make a google form and have all attendees fill it in with
receipts so that we can reimburse the.
5) Co-Curricular Record:
– Reminder to submit info by the end of the week
6) SFSS Council Motions:
– Black Caucus Statement
o This concerns the situation that occurred last winter on SFU campus.
o Galvin & Josh will be drafting a statement about this & where we stand. – Council Renumeration Proposal
o Proposal to increase wage to a living wage (above minimum wage). This would not increase student fees.
o In general, the BPKSA members would like to see more accountability built into the system but are otherwise in (conditional) agreement

- ▪ We are in agreement on the condition that they make improvements to the current accountability system.
- ▪ We would also like to see where the money going towards the living wage would be coming from.
Nicole motioned to reimburse Ben $225 from core for March Madness costs. Richelle seconded.
Motion was passed unanimously.
Nicole motioned to contribute $105 from core to a grant for the Year End Party. Richelle
seconded. Motion was passed unanimously.
The meeting of the BPKSA was adjourned by Ben at 4:30pm in the BPK Virtual Zoom Meeting. The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 6th, 2021 at 3:30 pm on Zoom (link will be distributed via email prior to the meeting).
