Meeting Minutes

Open Issues
BPK Kickoff
-Sherri Ferguson (EPU), Peter Ruben (MCPG), SFU Rec & Physio all have given the okay for tours
-Sherri has requested a copy of the schedule to work with incase EPU has
testing that day
-Matt sent Loryn the web survey from last year, which needs some minor edits on the schedule, and tours before it is sent out
-Loryn will email the new students to invite them to BPK Kickoff
-The finalized schedule for BPK Kick off has been finalized; everything was pushed back 20 minutes to eliminate the 30 minute gap before the BBQ as this was too much layover time and some students might have left during this time
-The following is the finalized scheduled for BPK Kickoff:
-10:45-10:55 Registration in Convo Mall according to the two groups they registered for (when you promote just say meet in front of the Library since even first years should know where that is)
-10:55-11:05 commute to Lorne Davies Building for SFU Physiotherapy and SFU Rec presentations
-11:05 – 11:25 Presentation 1
-11:25-11:35 Rotate Groups
-11:35-11:55 Presentation 2
-11:55 – 12:05 Commute to BPK Co-op office to meet new registrants and assign to groups
-12:05-12:25 Lab tour 1
-12:25-12:30 Rotate Groups
-12:30-12:50 Presentation 2
-12:50-1:30pm BBQ
BPK Lynn Canyon Hike
–the turnout wasn’t as good; only 4 people came out and all were BPKSA members
-problems could have been with promotion, timing (since it was the long weekend & since its summer)
-for next time, we could include lunch or pick another trail
-we need to recruit younger students to attend social events; we could possibly ask the Ta’s for BPK 142 to advertise the events as much as possible
-Erina motioned to reimburse Loryn $96.06 for the lunch provided following the hike. Shaila seconded the motion. The motion was unanimously approved.
Club Days
-tables have been booked for the following days: Wednesday, September 16th & Thursday, September 17th
-from about 10 am to 3 pm we need people sitting there
-the shifts and what we’ll have at the table will be decided later on in the month

The meeting of the BPKSA was adjourned by Loryn at 2:30 pm at the BPK Conference Room. The next meeting date will be decided.
