  • Issues with Course Registration:
  • not enough seats in upper division courses for students enrolling each semester
  • seats are always limited and tend to fill up in the first week of enrollment; scholarship students and the athletes fill up most of these seats
  • some core courses required for the program are only offered once a year; therefore the amount of students wanting to take these courses tends to accumulate every semester these courses are offered
  • some courses are the size they are, due to the marking
  • courses with labs cannot be expanded; takes time out of the professor’s research if the labs are expanded; however, lecture based classes can be expanded
  • Possible Solutions:
    • add more prerequisites for upper division classes or add more restrictions
  • Steven will be bringing up the issues with course registration specific to this semester with Dr. Tibbits
    • If you haven’t already, email to Steven your enrollment date, courses you couldn’t get into, and the amount of credits you have accumulated, including this semester
